Roksana Bahramitash (she/her)
Roksana earned her Ph.D. at McGill sociology department and pursued a career in academia teaching at McGill and Concordia universities. She has won several prestigious awards and has published many books and articles on gender and development.
Her work on women in the Muslim world was praised as one of the top three post-doc by the Canadian Parliament. Alongside academic career she travelled extensively to work as a consultant on women’s economic rights for several international organizations such as IDRC and the UN. Bahramitash has produced a documentary on women in Afghanistan.
More recently, she has focused on writing and publishing, creative, non-creative fiction and storytelling. Her work has received support by a second grant from the Canada Council for the Arts.
