Dr. Calvin Gutkin (he/him) is a family physician who served as Head of Emergency and Chief of Medical Staff of Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga. For seventeen years, he was then Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of The College of Family Physicians of Canada.
Dr. Gutkin was a physician for Canadian Special Olympics and the Toronto Youth Athletic Club which helped disadvantaged boys and was a National Board Director of The Michaelle Jean Foundation.
In 2012, Dr Gutkin received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal recognizing his leadership and contributions to Family Medicine and health care in Canada and abroad.
Dr Gutkin is currently a Board Director at CarePoint Health a patient-centered, team-based primary care centre and the Mississauga Health Team—the Ontario Government’s new model responsible for integrating health care services in each community.
