Marijke Vander Klok (she/her)

Marijke has been engaged as a volunteer facilitator since November 2019. Currently, she is WCC’s Manager of Volunteers and Programs, as well as a Staff Liaison to the WCC Advisory Council.

Marijke’s first experience co-facilitating a WCC workshop was in the drop-in centre at Fred Victor Housing. “I went in feeling pretty nervous,” she shares, “and left feeling elated.” For Marijke, every writing workshop since has been an adventure and a privilege to participate in.

She tells us: “My practice as a WCC facilitator keeps me open-hearted, attune to beauty, diversity, and community. It connects me to the joy of writing. It gives me permission to identify as a writer myself.”

Based in Toronto, Marijke has completed a Masters in Adult Education and Community Development, and loves to spend her free time making art, backcountry camping, and attempting DIY projects.
