Nancy Taber

Volunteer Facilitator

Nancy Taber (she/her)
St. Catharines, Ontario

Nancy Taber is a university professor, fiction author, and former military officer who served as a Sea King helicopter air navigator Tactical Coordinator. Her debut novel, A Sea of Spectres, published with Acorn Press in 2024.

Nancy started facilitating with WCC in October 2022, for the very first A Force for Women: Her Story workshop series. These workshops welcome women-identified Canadians who have served in the military and create a brave, non-hierarchal space for every voice to be heard.

Nancy describes that WCC workshops make her feel heard and seen. “When engaging in expressive writing, as a facilitator and writer, I am continually awed by how telling one’s story, from one’s own everyday experiences, unlocks reflections on writer’s military service, giving writers, and myself, the space to explore and share our experiences.”
