Rana has been a WCC Facilitator since 2017, making her a veteran of both onsite and virtual WCC workshops.

Professionally, Rana is a certified ESL/LINC teacher. Apart from having been a program coordinator/mentor at a social justice organization, Rana also edited and published an anthology on mental health narratives.

She came to Canada from India by way of the Middle East and brings diverse perspective to the WCC.

“One is vulnerable as an immigrant, and the outsider tag hurts. Being in a community with fellow writers makes me aware that this [newcomer] identity also transcends the many boxes and labels that we are prone to apply to each other.”
