Maria began writing with WCC during the Covid-19 pandemic, when the virtual workshops became accessible to her. She soon became a facilitator and facilitated 54 straight weeks of virtual WCC workshops through the pandemic.

A communications strategist by profession, Maria has written poetry since she was a youth, as well blogs and essays. She credits the WCC workshops experience with enhancing foundational skills in her personal and professional endeavours.
