Zahra Bolouk (she/her)
Toronto, ON
Zahra began facilitating WCC workshops in April 2024. She regularly facilitates workshops for women who use subtances and/or women who are underhoused.
Zahra’s older brother used to write short pieces, inspiring her to write as well. But it was with WCC that she first got the confidence to write in another language than her native Farsi. It was a turning point in her life. That’s how giving back to WCC became a dream for Zahra, and the opportunity to become a facilitator made this dream come true. Listening to participants’ stories has created such a safe space for Zahra, that she would not exchange it for anything else.
Zahra lives in Toronto with her husband and 23 year old son, who also is an avid writer. She loves reading, spending time with family and friends, and making others laugh.
Zahra’s short story “Black Berries” has been published by WCC for the Front Lines series.
